Founded in 1973 by Dr. John M Virgo, the International Atlantic Economic Society is a not-for-profit membership organization committed to sharing economic ideas worldwide. Along with hosting two conferences per year, the IAES publishes two economic journals quarterly. This job would be perfect for a rising sophomore or junior who is interested in economics, international business, international affairs, management/administration, or communication, with particular regards to coordinating with a publishing house.


Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on grammar and spelling
  • Experience with MS Word and MS Excel
  • Experience with HTML and/or Dreamweaver
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Fast learner
  • Dead-line oriented
  • Work well under pressure
  • Able to work independently
  • Rising Sophomore or Junior (no seniors unless graduating in May 2013)
  • Business Administration and Ivan Allen Majors only

Job description:

Intern will be involved in many aspects of the administration of two quarterly professional research journals. He/she will be taught the skills necessary to assist in processing manuscripts. He/she will copyedit manuscripts. He/she will learn various computer packages, learn web maintenance and design, and learn how to communication with scholars around the globe. He/she will be paid $7-$10 per hour and work 10-20 hours per week starting in the fall. Schedule is flexible based on student's class schedule. Not a one semester internship. Must be interested in working for 9-12 months. The job is located in downtown Atlanta and is easily accessible via MARTA.
