If you have accepted a fall internship, don't miss the chance to register it with DoPP. Any internship, regardless of how you found it, can be registered as long as it is related to your major, at least 20 hours/week, and at least 16 weeks in length.
WHY REGISTER YOUR PAID INTERNSHIP?
· Allows you to enroll in a free audit-credit internship course that does not affect your financial aid or scholarships, including HOPE
· Ensures that your work experience is noted on your transcript
· Lets you maintain full-time student status while you work, which, in turn, lets you maintain your eligibility for coverage by your family healthcare insurance
· Provides you with guidance in career goal-setting and documents providing input from your internship advisor about your job performance
TO REGISTER YOUR PAID INTERNSHIP: Schedule a meeting with your internship advisor using P2D2 (just login, go to the ‘Home’ tab, and click ‘schedule student/advisor meeting’). Be sure to bring a copy of your internship offer letter or offer e-mail.
