According to the recent Job Outlook Spring update from the National Association of Colleges and Employers, projections for hiring new graduates from the Class of 2011 is up 19.3%. This is especially good news since this is up from the Fall Job Outlook survey completed by employers that predicted hiring to increase by 13.5% for this year's class. Employers report that their number of applications they receive for each opening has risen significantly but the total number of positions/job postings has been reported to nearly triple.
The survey also shows that college hiring is increasing for all regions with projections for the Northeast being the largest. According to a survey completed last fall, employers are most interested in seeking new college graduates with bachelor's degrees in the following majors: business, engineering and computer science fields.
