School of Biology Needs Research Participants

Give us a half an hour of your time and we’ll give you a permanent 3D profile to keep.  You will be a participant in a research study of the genetics of facial expression.  Ever since Charles Darwin wrote “The Expression of Emotions in Man and Animals” in 1872, biologists have been  wondering about whether and how children learn to show happiness and fear, anger and surprise.  Professor Greg Gibson’s group in the School of Biology has initiated a study to quantify facial variation using an advanced 3D imaging camera that generates lifelike rotating pictures of your face.

If you are between the ages of 18 and 25 and are willing to sit for 10 pictures in return for a CD with the pictures, please contact Ms. Dalia Arafat by email at abc3dmd@gmail.com.
