The DC Department of Human Resources (DCHR) announces that the Capital City Fellows Program (CCFP) is now accepting applications for the 2010 fellowship. Applications will be accepted through April 1, 2010.
The CCFP is a mayoral initiative to attract recent graduates of master's degree programs in public administration, urban planning, law, engineering, finance, human resources, health, business and related fields to work for the city of Washington, DC. Candidates compete for two-year fellowship appointments during which they complete four six-month rotations in different city agencies, including: the Office of the City Administrator, Department of Human Resources, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Department of Human Services, Department of Transportation, Department of Corrections, Office of Planning, the Metropolitan Police Department, among many others. Fellows begin their service in October of each year and are selected through a competitive application process.
To be eligible, candidates must:
- Have earned their graduate degree (with a GPA of 3.5 or higher) within two years prior to the start of the October fellowship. Students who will graduate in Spring or Summer 2010 are eligible to apply.
- Waivers to the GPA requirement may be granted in exceptional cases. Waiver requests should be submitted in the form of a written statement (in addition to the required application), and sent via email to capcity.fellows@dc.gov.
- Be US Citizens or have legal non-citizen residence status. Capital City Fellows are required to live in the District of Columbia within 180 days of appointment.
